A friend of mine once said something to the effect of, “I hate it when people don’t try to understand what I’m saying.” I offered that it is among the most unattractive qualities in people I have ever encountered. After congratulating me on my choice of word to describe his feeling toward the phenomenon, I realized just how lucky I am that I am surrounded by people who are able to genuinely reason, to realize that all knowledge is not stored in them, to change their minds almost instantly, to let go, who want to try to see things from other people’s perspective. I’m glad I am surrounded by attractive people.
